Tuum Parish is a growing parish community in the Catholic Diocese of Maralal, serving the faithful in the Tuum area and its surrounding villages. The parish is dedicated to nurturing faith through prayer, sacraments, and catechesis, while also engaging in pastoral outreach, education, and social support. Despite geographical challenges, Tuum Parish remains a beacon of hope, unity, and evangelization for its people.

Sererit
Holy Trinity Parish, Sererit was established as a mission in *1999* in the remote Ndoto Mountains by Fr. Aldo Giuliani, IMC, who arrived in Kenya in 1968 and remains its parish priest. Starting with a church, house, kitchen, nursery school and dispensary, the mission grew into a parish in *2000* dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity, part of Baragoi Deanery. Facing scattered pastoralist settlements, Fr. Aldo with diocesan assistant Fr. Albert Letaon and catechists traveled to manyattas, combining evangelization with integral development: laying kilometres of pipes from mountain springs to bring clean water to Maragi, Lkitagesi, Naisunyru, Sererit and Latakweny, providing healthcare through the dispensary, early childhood education, scholarships for over 200 students to colleges and universities, and food aid during droughts. Its story is a later chapter than Baragoi (1952), showing how a small 1999 foundation became a permanent centre of faith, water, health and education in northern Samburu.

Baragoi
St. Francis Xavier Parish, Baragoi was the first Catholic mission in Samburu, with first contact in 1946 by Fr. Carlo Andrione, who arrived in Baragoi in 1951 and formally established the mission in 1952. Early growth was led by Fr. Michele Stallone (served 12+ years, killed in 1965) and supported by catechists, later Fr. Egidio Pedenzini and Fr. Felix Odongo IMC, the first African Consolata in Marsabit. From Baragoi, evangelization spread to South Horr, Tuum, Sererit and Loyangalani. The mission combined church, schools and dispensary, and after being part of Marsabit Diocese from 1964, became part of Maralal Diocese created 15 June 2001 by Pope John Paul II under Bishop Virgilio Pante. Dedicated to missionary St. Francis Xavier, the parish has also promoted peace under Pante's motto "With the Ministry of Reconciliation," despite sacrifices like Fr. Luigi Graiff killed in South Horr in 1981. Today it is one of four parishes in Baragoi Deanery (with South Horr, Tuum, Sererit), served by diocesan priests Fr. Raphael Lolosoli and Fr. Daniel Ntarangwe, continuing worship, education, health and peacebuilding more than 70 years after its founding.
