Transparency, Accountability, and Service to the Church

The Office of the Procurator of the Catholic Diocese of Maralal is entrusted with the sacred responsibility of administering, safeguarding, and managing the temporal goods of the Church in accordance with Canon Law and the mission of the Diocese. Guided by the principles of stewardship, transparency, and accountability, the Procurator ensures that all financial and material resources are utilized prudently to support pastoral work, evangelization, and the spiritual growth of the faithful. In serving as custodian of the Diocese’s assets, the Procurator collaborates with parish communities, diocesan offices, and stakeholders to promote sustainable development, foster trust, and strengthen the Church’s mission of service to God and humanity.

Our Mission

The Procurator of the Catholic Diocese of Maralal is entrusted with the stewardship of the Church’s temporal goods in fidelity to Canon Law (Canons 1273–1289).
With integrity, transparency, and accountability, the Procurator ensures that resources are safeguarded and wisely administered.
These goods are transformed into instruments of evangelization, pastoral growth, and service to the poor.
In collaboration with the Bishop, clergy, religious, and laity, the Procurator strengthens trust and sustainability.
Through faithful stewardship, the Procurator advances the mission of Christ in the Diocese and beyond.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

The Office of the Procurator carries out a wide range of critical functions that ensure the Diocese’s sustainability, accountability, and faithful stewardship of resources. More function Include

 
  • Works in close collaboration with the Bishop.

  • Engages clergy, religious, and laity in decision-making.

  • Provides visionary leadership in diocesan development.

  • Directs and oversees diocesan offices such as ICT, Human Resource, Finance, PIHD, and the Secretariat.

  • Administers goods in accordance with Canons 1273–1289.

  • Ensures proper use of Church goods for worship, clergy sustenance, and charity.

  • Upholds civil and ecclesiastical legal requirements.

  • Provides reports to the Bishop and diocesan finance council.

  • Promotes a culture of responsible stewardship among the faithful.

  • Mobilizes resources for diocesan projects and missions.

  • Encourages sustainable income-generating initiatives.

  • Strengthens diocesan self-reliance and development.

  • Safeguards diocesan land, buildings, and investments.

  • Supervises acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of property.

  • Maintains accurate records of diocesan assets.

  • Ensures assets are used for the mission of the Church.

  • Oversees income, expenditures, and financial reporting.

  • Ensures transparency and accountability in financial dealing.

  • Oversees the ICT Department as a system administrator by ensuring secure data management, network reliability, and digital transformation.

  • Approves and supervises ICT systems for diocesan communication, records, and cybersecurity.

  • Guides ICT policies on digital innovation, system upgrades, and parish-level IT support.
