National Youth Prayer Day

November 16, 2025 @ 8:00 am - August 10, 2026 @ 5:00 pm

National Youth Prayer Day will be held at the Subukia Marian Shrine in Nakuru County this coming November, bringing together young people from all corners of the nation for a day of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and purposeful prayer. Participants will gather in the serene surroundings of Subukia — a place known for its peace, pilgrimage, and devotion — to reflect on their faith, share testimonies, worship together, and draw strength for the journey ahead. The event offers the youth a chance to pause, reflect, and recharge their spiritual lives in community.

Under the pastoral guidance of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB), this year’s focus will be on empowering young Catholics to live out their faith boldly in times of uncertainty. The day will feature inspirational messages from bishops and youth leaders, moments of communal worship, and small group sessions geared toward addressing the challenges facing today’s youth — such as identity, purpose, relationships, and service. There will also be periods of silence and prayer, times for confession, and the celebration of the Eucharist, all designed to deepen personal intimacy with Christ and commitment to the Gospel.

Beyond the spiritual enrichment, National Youth Prayer Day at Subukia seeks to build a stronger sense of community among the youth of Kenya. It is an opportunity for young people not only to worship but also to make connections — to encourage one another in faith, form networks of support, and begin initiatives of hope in their local parishes. As they return home, the hope is that they will carry forward the light and unity experienced at Subukia into their everyday lives — living out peace, love, and service wherever they are planted.
