DESCRIPTION:PLENARY INDULGENCE FOR THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF WORLD MISSION SUNDAY – 18 OCTOBER 2026* \n*Apostolic Nunciature in Kenya | Letter Prot. N. 5584/26 | Nairobi\, 15 October 2026* \nThe Catholic Church in Kenya joyfully announces a special spiritual gift on the occasion of the *100th Anniversary of World Mission Sunday*\, to be celebrated worldwide on *Sunday\, 18th October 2026*. \nThe *Apostolic Penitentiary*\, by mandate of the Holy Father\, has granted a *Plenary Indulgence* to all the faithful who devoutly participate in the centenary celebration. \nWhat is granted? \nA Plenary Indulgence is granted to the faithful who participate in the solemn celebration of the 100th World Mission Sunday\, receive Holy Communion\, and offer prayers for the evangelization of peoples throughout the world. \nIn accordance with Church teaching\, this indulgence is also *applicable to the souls of the faithful departed*\, through suffrage. \nConditions to obtain the Plenary Indulgence: \nTo obtain the Plenary Indulgence\, the faithful must\, with a spirit detached from any affection for sin\, even venial sin\, fulfill the usual conditions: \n1. *Sacramental Confession* – Make a sacramental confession close to the day\n2. *Reception of Holy Communion* – Receive Holy Communion on the day of the celebration\n3. *Prayer for the Intentions of the Holy Father* – Pray an Our Father\, Hail Mary\, and Glory Be for the Pope’s intentions\n4. *Complete Detachment from all Sin* – Including venial sin \nThe faithful are encouraged to unite themselves spiritually in prayer for the mission of the Church worldwide\, for missionaries\, and for the spread of the Gospel to all nations. \nLet us all prepare and participate fully in this historic centenary as we renew our missionary commitment: _To pray\, to support\, and to proclaim Christ to the world._ \n*World Mission Sunday • 100th Anniversary • 1926 – 2026* \n_Reference: Apostolic Nunciature in Kenya\, Prot.
